Question about Leeds City, UK?

I'm planning on going to Leeds tomorrow, and want to go to Leeds City Museum, which i know is in Millenium Square. I was wondering, is Millenium Square in the city centre? e.g shopping mall areas? I've never been to Leeds so i have no idea! :/
