Why does my chevy astro vans automatic transmission clunk when it shifts from first to second,is it serious ?

it's a thrust washer inside the transmission, if you remove the transmission and take it somewhere it will cost about 750 to have it rebuilt and a rebuilt converter., check you motormounts also first.
