What if America became a member of the Commonwealth?

When we broke our ties many years ago a Declaration of Independence was written concise and to the point about breaking our ties to the commonwealth (Britain) !! We made the choice than so how can we go back to them? You would have to void our present constitution and change our government business to support the Queen!! I don't think the American public would honor this change, do you? Stick with what has worked for our common good and clap for the countries you have mentioned!!!
