I Need To Know If This Is Illegal?

Okay so my boyfriends dad came home drunk and he asked to come over just until his mom came home or his dad was sober. Whe I asked my dad he said "no it's illegal. It's kidnapping" Is that true is it really illegal???? I need to know A.S.A.P I don't like seeing my boyfriend hurt and I wnat to help him.
