Ex.of how poor people in the US are viewed as idle,lazy,shiftless &/or illiterate & how it affects their lives?

Poor people in america are looked at as less inteligent. many of america's poor are uneducated/ This makes it harder for them to get jobs and get back on their feeet and the current economical situation in our country doesn't make that any easier. Even people who have college degrees are being laid off and because of the way they are viewed, the less fortunate of america are moved farther and farther down the food chain.
